What Is the MHD Guardian Partnership Program?
Our Guardian Partnership Program is built on partnership, trust, and shared purpose.
A guardian family is a puppy’s forever family. From day one, your dog lives in your home, is fully integrated into your daily life, and is loved as a cherished companion.
For a portion of their life, they also play an important role in helping us responsibly preserve and improve the Australian Labradoodle breed.
Guardian families receive a breeding-quality, fully health-tested, pick-of-the-litter Australian Labradoodle with no upfront purchase cost.
In return, you partner with us during the dog’s breeding career. We provide guidance and support throughout the process.
Once that journey is complete, the dog is spayed or neutered, fully retired, and continues life exactly where they belong—with you.
For the right family, this program is deeply rewarding and rooted in purpose and care.
More Details:
A Forever Home Comes First
Every guardian dog lives full-time with their family as a beloved companion. This is not a temporary placement. Your home is their forever home, and their emotional well-being, happiness, and quality of life are always our top priority.
Ownership During the Program
During the breeding portion of the program, the breeder remains the legal owner. This allows us to oversee health testing, breeding decisions, and the integrity of our program.
Guardian families provide all day-to-day care, including training, exercise, socialization, and love. The dog is fully included as a family member in every way that matters.
Breeding & Time With Us
Female dogs come to our home to whelp, to ensure a calm, familiar, and well-supported environment. Once her time with us is complete, she returns home to her family.
Male dogs typically do not come with us overnight but remain with their guardian families. For breeding, the female comes to the male’s home for a brief visit, usually two sessions over consecutive or alternating days.
Retirement & Ownership Transfer
After completing their breeding career, the dog is spayed or neutered and fully retired. Ownership is then transferred to the guardian family at no cost. Nothing changes except the paperwork—the dog continues life at home with the people they love.
Program Guidelines
Guardian families agree to follow specific guidelines related to nutrition, training, grooming, and overall care. These expectations exist to protect the dog’s long-term health, temperament, and well-being and to support ethical, responsible breeding.
Is This Program Right for You?
This program may be a good fit if you want a lifelong companion, value transparency and teamwork, and are comfortable partnering with a breeder for a defined period of time.
It may not be the right fit if you are uncomfortable with breeder ownership during the breeding phase, prefer full decision-making authority from day one, or cannot accommodate occasional time away for breeding or whelping.
Next Steps
If this approach aligns with your values, we invite you to apply. We are honored to partner with families who share our commitment to putting the dog first—always.
