A Quiet Summer… and Puppies on the Horizon!

It’s been a little quiet around here this summer… and honestly, we’ve kind of enjoyed it!

After a busy season of puppies, we’ve had a chance to slow down, enjoy time with our dog, Toby, and spend some time with family. We've watched A LOT of grandkids soccer and volleyball, snuck in a few camping trips and checked off a bucket list trip to Alaska. But there’s something about a quiet house after you’ve been surrounded by puppies that makes you realize just how much you miss the chaos!

And thankfully, we don’t have to wait much longer.

We are getting ready for our next litter …Tessi and Draeko!

Tessi should come into season within the next few weeks, which means we are expecting puppies around Christmas, with our little ones heading home around Valentine’s Day.

And this litter is extra special for a couple of reasons.

First, this will be Tessi’s retirement litter. Tessi has given us some absolutely wonderful puppies in her previous litters, and we are so excited to have one more bunch of Tessi babies before she officially hangs up her mama hat and gets to enjoy retirement.

Second, this is a repeat breeding with Draeko, and we couldn't be more excited about that!

Their first litter was everything we had hoped for and MORE. The puppies had those wonderful MHD temperaments we work so hard to produce …sweet, social, people-loving, smart, fun and affectionate. They were just the kind of puppies that make us look at a litter and think, Yep… this is why we do this. Picure of "Justice" is one of their prior puppies

So, when we started thinking about Tessi's retirement litter, repeating this pairing was an easy decision.

We still have one more camping trip planned before Tessi's puppies arrive, and then we're pretty much homebodies for the winter. Once Tessi cycles, things will start moving quickly, and before we know it, we'll have tiny little puppies squeaking and snuggling their way into our living room again.

And we can't wait!!

The house is just a little too quiet right now.

We're ready for puppy breath, tiny paws, puppy piles, sleepy snuggles, happy chaos and all the memories that come with another MHD litter.

So, if you've been wondering what we've been up to around here...that's it!

We're still here. We're just enjoying a little quiet before the storm… and getting ready for what we hope will be one very special Christmas litter.  

Tessi + Draeko babies coming around Christmas 2026, going home around Valentine's Day 2027!
